You can use it as a debit card abroad in the local currency and withdraw cash from ATMs.

Best Noise Cancelling Headphones: I never fly without these. The background noise on aircraft can wear you down after a while. If you need to rest, these will make it a lot easier. Best suitcase: The Samsonite S'Cure-Spinner is the choice of most of the aircrew who I know. I've had these for most of my career. They are well-made and tough. They are also light and strong. Because they have a small amount of flexibility, baggage handlers will struggle to break them, no matter how hard they try. If secure and uncomplicated is what you want, then this is the suitcase for you.
