These resources are divided into two parts. The first part is a list of the best items that I have found for making air travel easier and more pleasant.

The second part are useful downloads that I have created for you which are free.

Best Money Card: The Wise card, for me, is the number one thing I would recommend for international travel. It makes foreign exchange problems a thing of the past. The card is free and there are no annual fees. The cost of any transactions is minimal. The exchange rates they use are excellent. You can use it as a debit card abroad in the local currency and withdraw cash from ATMs.

You can hold 40+ different currencies on the card and exchange one currency into another on the it. You can transfer money between banks or from your account. You can easily add money to your accounts and get paid on to the card. What's not to like. I highly recommend it. Apply here.

Best Noise Cancelling Headphones: I never fly without these. The background noise on aircraft can wear you down after a while. If you need to rest, these will make it a lot easier. They are also super comfortable for long periods. But where they really come into their own is watching movies. The free headsets on aircraft are designed to be as uncomfortable as possible and to ensure your movie-watching experience couldn't get any worse. With these headphones, an awful experience is transformed into a pleasurable one instantly, with the flick of an on button. Long battery life and great tech features make these headphones stand out.

Best suitcase: The Samsonite S'Cure-Spinner is the choice of most of the aircrew who I know. I've had these for most of my career. They are well-made and tough. They are also light and strong. Because they have a small amount of flexibility, baggage handlers will struggle to break them, no matter how hard they try. If secure and uncomplicated is what you want, then this is the suitcase for you.

I'd pick a crazy colour as well, as they stick out like dogs' balls. There's nothing better than seeing your suitcase coming from 100 metres away. Get yours here.

TSA-approved luggage strap: These come with a combination lock for your use and a small key lock which security can use to open your case if they want to look inside. If they can't unlock it, then they will cut it and you won't see it again.

The strap serves as an extra security barrier against thieves and also stands out on your suitcase so that you can see it coming.

It also helps stop the suitcase from popping open if you overloaded it and stood on it to get it closed.

Suitcase Storage Bags: These help keep everything organised in your suitcase and why wouldn't you want that? There's nothing more frustrating than trying to locate a sock in an untidy suitcase. Go stress-free with these bags.

Best Carry-on Wheely Bag: The Samsonite under-seat carry-on spinner with USB port is the perfect onboard travel companion. I love mine. It beats carrying a heavy backpack, and it's small enough to put under your seat if you need to. The ability to charge devices from it is very useful.

Plus you really can't go past Samsonite for durability and quality. It's worth paying a little more for that.

Best travel Pillow: It might not look like a normal travel pillow but the 'trtl' aeroplane and travel pillow is the best thing since, well, sliced bread. Its genius is in the internal structure, which holds your head up and straight so that you sleep well and don't fall asleep on your neighbour's shoulder.

It's super comfortable as well.

Best Collapsable Water Bottle: Stay hydrated while travelling with this 600ml collapsable water bottle.

It packs down toa very compact size when it's not needed. What's not to like?

Best Accommodation Booking Site: This site does it all because it combines all the information from all the other booking sites to give you the best possible deal on hotels anywhere in the world. Because it combines all the offers there is a greater range of accommodation to see. You can use filters to look based on things like price and ratings. It's too easy.

Best Travel Adapter: The Lencent universal travel adapter is an international charger with 3 USB ports and a type C port for charging all sorts of devices. It works in over 100 countries. Say goodbye to charging hassles while overseas. The adapter has voltage sensor controls to feed the right amount of power to each device. It is not a voltage converter, so if your device is 220v and the local current is 110v, it won't work for that device.

Best Money Belt: This Zero Grid money belt fits under your clothing on the front side of your body to hide and protect your cash, passport and cards. It comes with RFID sleeves to prevent scammers from swiping your identity when in close proximity. It's super comfortable as well.

Best personal security alarm:  The Safe Sound personal alarm is a 130db rechargeable alarm with a light that can be used to find your way or to blind an assailant. If you are being bothered, set this sucker off and if it doesn't scare your assailant off it will certainly attract attention. Sure, it will make you deaf too but at least you will still have your cash to buy a hearing aid. I wouldn't travel without one.

Best Security Chain: This Lewis N. Clark 30-inch retractable cable lock is just what you need to keep your bags safe. Sure, it won't stop determined thieves with a wire cutter but it will stop opportunists from swiping your bag from the chair next to you while you drink your coffee. It will also make it harder for thieves to steal a bag from a train's baggage area.  It's TSA-approved, light and compact.
